31 Dec 2017: On the last day of the year 2017, 3 jawans killed, 2 injured in a fidayeen attack on CRPF camp in J&K’s Pulwama. This is an attack on Kashmiriyat in Kashmiris. These Pakistani terrorists under Jaish-e-M are ensuring that they Kill our Kashmiri spirit called Kashmiriyat.

Attack on Kashmiriyat

On the early hours on 31 Dec 2017, two heavily armed militants stormed a CRPF camp in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing four personnel and leaving two others injured. The militants targeted the camp of 185th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force in Awantipora around 2 am. The battalion has Kashmiri youth working to protect the Kashmir valley. Many of them joined out of CRPF looking for a livelihood. They were performing their duties as true CRPF personnel. The camp was still under construction, spread over 200 acres when the attack happened. The sentry guards were on high alert when the attack started. The militants did not appreciate that second in command (2IC) and the assistant 2IC were on patrol when terrorist barged in.

On Alert

It is reported that fidayeens from JeM “Two heavily armed militants with UBGL, AK-47s and grenades stormed the camp at about 2 am. They were armed with under-barrel grenade launchers and automatic weapons. They were challenged by camp sentries,” CRPF. The terrorists first threw UBGL grenades for shock effect and then open fired indiscriminately outside the CRPF camp at the security guard killing him instantly and managed to get inside. Heavy police reinforcement was immediately rushed to the spot. The terrorists after entering were isolated into an administrative building which was empty at that time. The CRPF officials taking control of the situation had cordoned off the area to minimise the damage. Our anonymous reporter had got information in the morning hours and informed that he could see sporadic firing coming from the compound spread over a small area.

Attack on Kashmiriyat by Killing a Kashmiri Soldier

The deceased CRPF jawan has been identified as constable Saifuddin Soz, a resident of Srinagar and a Kashmiri. He joined CRPF to protect the Kashmiriyat.

“The two militants are holed up on the fourth floor of an administrative building block in the camp and operation is underway to neutralize militants,” a senior official of the force said.

Attack on Kashmiriyat in the name of Avenging

The camp also serves as a training center for troops inducted for counter-militancy operations in Kashmir Valley. Apart from CRPF a Jammu and Kashmir Police commando team is also co-located within this CRPF camp. It is to be remembered that this attack is not on security forces but an Attack on Kashmiriyat.

Pakistani Terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed has taken responsibility for this fidayeen attack. Their spokesperson termed it as an attack carried out to avenge the killing of their commander Noor Trali. Trali was killed in a joint operation between Jammu Kashmir Police and 50 Rashtriya Rifles battalion in the Samboora area of Pulwama. Pakistani Militants are truly terrorists who are making all attempts to divide Kashmiris into various classes on the lines of religion, profession, service, occupation, peasantry etc.

In the past also a BSF Jawan was killed by these Pakistani Militants. This killing of Kashmiri is unacceptable. Attacking an under-construction CRPF training camp which is ill-prepared is equal to an act of cowardice. Killing a brother Kashmiri is serious and we have to see how the leaders from Hurriyat react. Are they also party to the killing of Kashmiris? When a Kashmiri was used as a human shield they created a lot of noise what will they do now?
The Politicians are being watched by Kashmiri people and they will show them the doors if they do not condemn this attack. J&K Government should come out and give a statement at the earliest.
