PM Modi’s persistent effort towards reaching out to Kashmiri’s is once again visible in his Independence Day speech. His speech hints at new measures being adopted to tackle this sensitive issue, in which he is openly seeking support of Kashmiri’s. Downplaying Pakistan by highlighting their human rights violations in Balochistan, PoK and Gilgit, he has got the Kashmiri’s thinking that what Pakistan preaches it does not practice. With these sustained efforts, emphasizing on a “common goal” of making a terror free and developed Kashmir he will be able to make some headway in the right direction.
