ASEEM FOUNDATION’S INITIATIVE WITH ARMY

Aseem foundation, a Pune based NGO, established by Mr Sarang Gosavi, a renowned social activist of Maharashtra has been active in Jammu & Kashmir since 2001 in the fields of education, vocational training, skill development & sports. The Kalapahar Brigade & Aseem foundation are collaborating to impart education and empowerment to the youth of far flung areas of Uri tehsil.

Aseem Foundation’s latest initiative in villages of Uri include Mobile Dental Camps, Computer Centre at Kamalkot and an All Women Bakery in Uri. A state-of-art Computer Centre is being established at Kamalkot, a remote village located 1 Km from the LC. It is supported by KPIT Technologies (Pune based MNC).

As a part of the community development programme, the Computer Centre is a joint venture of Aseem Foundation and villagers of Kamalkot and will be run under the scheme “By The Villagers, For The Villagers”. Certification shall be provided by KPIT to the students undertaking computer training in the centre.

The Aseem Foundation will also be establishing an “All Women Bakery” by the end of July. It will not only train the girls of the area but also empower them and make them self dependent.

Ahemdabad based renowned dentist, Dr Pratibha Athavle is conducting the Mob Dental Camp at Uri, Kamalkot, Gohalan and Gingle. Dr. Prathibha has an experience of 37 years and is actively contributing to society since last 17 years in North East and Leh. She has been felicitated by the Maharashtra Government several times for her active social service. The camp started on 28 June in Uri. For the first three days 137 people attended the camp. The camp is being conducted at Kamalkot from 01 - 03 July 17, followed by camp at Gohalan from 04 - 05 July 17 and 06 to 08 July at Gingle.
