The United Jihad Council (UJC) Chairman Syed Salahuddin has rejected New Delhi’s announcement to hold talks with ‘all stakeholders’ in occupied Kashmir, saying that if it had been sincere, it would have appointed a politician rather than a retired intelligence officer as interlocutor.“We want tripartite talks involving Pakistan, India and Kashmiris. If India is sincere in talks, first it should accept three parties to the dispute; declare Kashmir a disputed territory; and talk to the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leaders in IOK,” he said on Thursday.

Viewpoint

Anytime a step forward towards peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict takes place, no stone is left unturned to mar the initiative by the "specially designated global terrorist" Syed Salahuddin and his flock. To remain relevant in Pak society and ensure he continues to enjoy ISI patronage he attempts such acts and spreads lies. Let us get a perspective on the same.

Who is he?

His biggest achievement so far is that he has turned the Kashmir valley into a graveyard. Kashmiris are simple people and are exploited by the likes of Syed Salahuddin; for furthering of their agenda of self gratification.Salahuddin is known to be motivating the Kashmiri youth to join terrorist outfits and has been arranging their training by the Pakistani army and launching them back in J&K to be killed.

Does he represent Kashmiri's ?

Though he himself heads a radical organisation that calls for all Kashmiris to take up armed struggle against India, none of his own children have joined his movement.All his sons have distanced themselves from their father's activities. His oldest son, Shakeel Yousuf, works as a medical assistant at Srinagar's Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, second son Javed Yousuf works in the Education Department as computer operator, while Shahid Yousuf is a Research Fellow at the Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology. Shah's fourth son, Wahid Yusuf, is a doctor at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Mueed Yusuf, the youngest of Shah's sons, is working at Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Srinagar, Kashmir. His daughter Naseema, wife of Nazir Ahmad Khan, is a government teacher at Dharmuna in district Budgam and Akhtara is an arts teacher at Soibugh. Why is my name unnecessarily being linked  with my father, I don support his ideology and have nothing to do with him. This is what Salahuddin's son Syed Mueed, who works as a IT manager in the EDI office said after he was rescued along with 100 others by SF when terrorists attacked the EDI office in Pampore October last year.

When Salahuddin has failed to motivate his own family members, how does he expect to motivate right thinking Kashmiri youth? Why is the youth getting misled by this self proclaimed hero and symbol of freedom? What is his contribution ? Living a cosy life sponsored by ISI in Pakistan and turning Kashmir into a graveyard with not his own, but young innocent blood of Kashmiri's. It should be clear that UJC in general and SS in particular are not the stake holders under the mandate. They are terrorists and will be dealt like any other gunslinger by the SF's. They have an option to surrender but definitely not participate in a dialogue aimed at stabilizing the volatile situation of the valley.

Who is Salahuddin

Many from outside Kashmir would be surprised to find that Salahuddin was a resident of Budgam, Kashmir, before he crossed over to Pak. A teacher by profession, he believed in Indian Democracy and fought Assembly Elections under Indian Constitution. After losing Assembly Elections from Amirkadal in 1987, he joined Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and escaped to Pakistan. He changed his name from Yusuf Shah to Sayed Salahuddin and was crowned as Hizb Chief by his Pakistani Masters. He now lives in Pakistan leaving his wife and 7 children in India. Four of his five sons are employed as Government Servants in J & K State, while one daughter is a Government teacher.

Implication of naming Salahuddin as a Global Terrorist

The Pak propaganda of calling the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, a home grown militant organization suffers a severe jolt.

Pak has always projected Hizb-ul-Mujahideen as a local militant group.

Listing of Chief of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, who lives in Pakistan, puts Pakistan under tremendous fear of being declared a Terrorist Nation. This vindicates India’s long stated argument of cross border terrorism.

It brings Salahuddin one step closure to being included in the UN Sanctions List of terrorists. Earlier similar action against Hafiz Sayeed was blocked in UN, by China on behest of Pak.

Puts sympathizers of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outside India under direct lens of US Government.viewpoint
